Assessing and improving departmental performance

Many organisations, large and small, in the public, private and voluntary sectors are striving for greater efficiency and performance with the same or fewer resources. Most have undertaken a wide range of initiatives in their drive for continuous improvement. Some, for example, have attained recognition from Investors in People or CharterMark, or have gained ISO registration. This requires managers to have a wide range of knowledge of new ideas and approaches in order to successfully manage change.
