Introduction This programme is designed for individuals who will act as project Sponsor to the Project Manager.Fundamental to the success of a project is having someone to undertake the vital role of Sponsor - the person who can act as the link between the "big picture" business strategy and the details of an individual project.
The Sponsor is usually the project "champion".
This programme will provide participants with the knowledge and understanding of the key functions and responsibilities that the Sponsor's role entails, enabling the Sponsor to guide and support the Project Manager throughout the life of the project without being directly involved in the operational management of the project.

Programme Content Project Roles: Clarifying the different roles of people involved with a project and managing the relationships: Sponsor, Project Manager, Team Members and Stakeholders.
The Sponsor's Role: the Sponsor's role key functions and responsibilities; selecting the right Project Manager; approving the project goal; guiding and coaching the Project Manager; dealing with obstacles and providing resources; providing general support; recognising when it is appropriate to make interventions; recognising different issues that night arise during the project's progress.
Dealing With Changes: how to make a smooth transition when inheriting or passing on existing; authorising changes.
Continuous Reviews: checking the progress of a project; ensuring ongoing viability of the project and adapting or terminating non-viable projects if appropriate.
Communication: clarifying how and when to communicate with the Project Manager; identifying, aligning and influencing key Stakeholders; communicating the project benefits to business.
Completing The Project: ensuring that the project closure is complete and that responsibilities are transferred to the organisation; conducting reviews with project manager and team to capture key learnings.
