Introduction
In today's fast changing business world, continuous improvement is seen as a pre-requisite for survival, let alone growth. But to enable improvement to take place we first need to recognise problems for the opportunities that they really are. This programme is designed to equip people with the problem solving skills to act pro-actively and effectively in both identifying and resolving problems. The participants will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and motivation to resolve rather than 'live with' problems in their daily activities.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this programme, participants will be able to:
Identify where fire-fighting has become the norm and replace it with effective problem solving
Recognise the problems that limit their individual and group potential
Select from a variety of techniques the most appropriate methods to solve these problems
Deal with their own and other's 'mindsets' that contribute to the problem
Tackle problems with a positive and constructive approach
Programme Content
The programme looks at different methods of problem solving and considers common barriers between problem solving and decision-making. Participants will have the opportunity to test and prove theories, as they will be working on live issues.
In order to achieve this, participants will be required to prepare for the programme by identifying live examples to work on. The programme will work through actual examples and set individual action plans. This will lead to targets of improved performance and a methodology for measuring the value generated
